On April 22, 2023, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s administrative ruling in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA.

“The Supreme Court’s ruling in the mifepristone case is a victory for science and women’s health freedoms. By preventing the lower court’s decision from going into effect, access to mifepristone remains unchanged for women in Washington state and across the country for the time being. This medication has been safely used for over two decades and there is no scientific reason for the courts to insert themselves to prevent women from accessing it.

“But we know that anti-abortion advocates and extreme Republican lawmakers will not stop until they achieve a nationwide abortion ban. I will keep fighting alongside our pro-choice House Democratic Caucus until we enshrine the protections of Roe v. Wade into law once and for all.
