Paving Work Rescheduled due to Inclement Weather

Paving Work Rescheduled due to Inclement Weather
0Comments

The  final paving portion of the Downtown Snoqualmie Tree Streets  Infrastructure Improvement Project – roadway grinding and repaving – was  scheduled to begin on Friday June 10. Due to the heavy rain forecast  over the weekend, this work has been delayed and will be rescheduled  during more favorable weather for paving. This will most likely occur  near the end of June. An update will be provided once a schedule is  confirmed. This repaving project will impact multiple areas of downtown  Snoqualmie, including:

  • SE Cedar Street between SE Cedar Place and SE Fir Street
  • SE Fir Street between Pickering CT SE and SE Cedar Street
  • Pine Ave SE between SE Cedar Street and SE 80th Street
  • SE King Street between Silva Ave SE and Railroad Ave SE/SR 202
  • The intersection of SE River Street and Maple Ave SE

During  paving operations, drivers may experience rolling closures of these  local roadways and intersections. Arterial routes, including River  Street and Pine Ave, will be narrowed to a single lane controlled by  flaggers.

Please note, this roadway work is subject to weather conditions and updates will be provided if this schedule changes.

Following  paving, the redesigned intersections at King/Maple and River/Maple will  receive new planter beds enclosed by a wrought iron fence. It is  anticipated that new heritage trees that are part of this project will  be installed during early fall, a more favorable time for tree planting.

The $3.4 million Tree Streets Project is part of the  5-year, $17 million Downtown Snoqualmie Utilities Capital Improvement  Plan designed to replace aging water, sewer, and storm infrastructure to  increase reliability and longevity of the systems, as well as improve  driver and pedestrian safety in the area.
