On May 16, 2025, Rep. Suzan DelBene announced a meeting with the Washington Fraternal Order of Police to discuss strategies for enhancing support for law enforcement and first responders in efforts to build safer communities.
Later that day, DelBene criticized Republican proposals to increase taxes on individuals earning less than $30,000 as a means to fund tax breaks for the wealthy. She noted that many affected individuals also depend on Medicaid, which is facing potential cuts under the same legislative agenda.
In another post on May 16, DelBene discussed her conversation with Rep. Schneider regarding the Republican budget bill’s impact on health coverage. She highlighted concerns that nearly 14 million Americans could lose their health insurance if the proposed budget were enacted.
Suzan DelBene has been an active member of Congress since replacing Jay Inslee in 2012. Born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently residing in Medina, she holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
