Rep. Suzan DelBene, who represents Washington’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues in several posts on May 15, 2026.

In her first statement posted at 02:00 UTC, DelBene commented on the impact of foreign policy decisions under former President Donald Trump: “Trump’s war with Iran has made life harder for millions of Americans, raising costs & sending gas prices skyrocketing. The best way to stop this financial strain is to end this reckless war.”

Later that day at 18:11 UTC, she raised concerns about alleged misconduct within the Trump administration: “The level of corruption in this administration is unprecedented.

Trump’s own Justice Department is prepared to give $1.7 billion of your tax dollars to the president’s friends & family. Even worse they also want to use this slush fund to reward the violent January 6 criminals.”

In a separate post at 21:12 UTC, DelBene highlighted local collaboration efforts by sharing an update from Washington D.C.: “Great to see @CityofRedmond Mayor Birney in D.C. this week! I appreciate our continued strong partnership working to make our community better.”

Suzan DelBene has served as the congressional representative for Washington’s 1st District since 2012 after succeeding Jay Inslee and resides in Medina. She was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
