Rep. Suzan DelBene, a U.S. Congress member representing Washington’s 1st District since 2012, recently shared updates on social media concerning various events and initiatives. The posts highlighted a mix of festive cheer, community engagement opportunities, and commendations for local achievements.

On December 4, 2024, Rep. DelBene shared her enthusiasm for the annual tradition in Congress by announcing the arrival of the Capitol gingerbread model. “Some holiday sweetness just arrived in Congress with the annual Capitol gingerbread model!”

On December 5, 2024, she informed constituents in Washington’s 1st Congressional District about an opportunity to receive assistance with federal programs or agencies. She announced that her office would be available to meet with individuals at the Monroe Library on December 11 from 10 AM to 2 PM. “Do you live in WA’s 1st Congressional District & need help with a federal program or agency? My office is here to help! You can meet with my dedicated casework team on 12/11 from 10AM-2PM at the Monroe Library.”

Later that day, Rep. DelBene congratulated Isabella and Nathan Guan of Kirkland for winning the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Washington’s First District. Their app, Read Buddy, was recognized as an outstanding example of technology supporting reading comprehension for neurodivergent individuals. “Congrats to Isabella & Nathan Guan of Kirkland on winning the 2024 @CongressionalAC for WA-01! Their app, Read Buddy, was one of many incredible apps we saw this year & a great example of how tech can support reading comprehension for neurodivergent people.”
