Rep. Suzan DelBene, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, recently shared a series of posts on her social media highlighting her sources of inspiration and appreciation for youth engagement and staff contributions.
On August 29, 2025, DelBene posted about what motivates her ongoing efforts in public service: “What gives me hope? I shared what helps inspire me to keep fighting for our democracy.”
A day later, on August 30, she expressed admiration for students participating in the Congressional App Challenge: “I’m always inspired by students in the @CongressionalAC. No matter your background, you can turn ideas into reality, make new friends, & help solve real problems. I can’t wait to see what you create next – this year’s apps are due on October 30.”
On August 31, DelBene acknowledged the work of her summer interns: “Thank you to our incredible summer interns for all they contributed these past months. Can’t wait to see what they do next!”
Suzan DelBene has represented Washington’s 1st congressional district since replacing Jay Inslee in 2012. She was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently resides in Medina. DelBene holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
