Rep. Suzan DelBene, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, has recently taken to social media to voice concerns over government funding negotiations and health care policies.
On September 25, 2025, DelBene posted on X: “Republicans are refusing to negotiate with Democrats over funding the government & are threatening a shutdown that would raise costs & take away health care. Working families can’t afford this chaos. It’s time to get back to DC & deliver solutions for the American people.”
Later, on September 26, she criticized new federal policies regarding Medicare access: “The Trump administration is going to make it harder for Washington seniors & Medicare beneficiaries to get the health care they need by putting new prior authorization requirements in place & using AI to deny services. I’m urging the admin to stop this half-baked plan.”
That same day, DelBene addressed broader legal and political issues in another post: “Trump is weaponizing the justice system to target his enemies. This corrupt abuse of power undermines our rule of law & makes every American less safe.”
Suzan DelBene was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently resides in Medina. She holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington. Having replaced Jay Inslee in Congress in 2012, DelBene has focused her legislative efforts on issues affecting working families and seniors.
