Representative Suzan DelBene, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st District since 2012, is actively engaging her community on issues ranging from social services to health initiatives. These topics are brought forward in her recent tweets addressing the concerns of her constituents.
On April 27, 2025, Representative DelBene shared the experience of a mother from Snohomish who expressed her fear regarding potential cuts to Medicaid and Social Security. “A mother from Snohomish recently told me she is scared for her son with disabilities if Medicaid & Social Security are cut. Her concerns are reflective of many in our community. Families shouldn’t have to live in fear of service cuts.”
The following day, April 28, she highlighted the importance of organ donation during National Donate Life Month, urging her constituents to register as organ donors. DelBene conveyed her gratitude to those who have participated in organ donation. “During National Donate Life Month, you can help save lives by registering to be an organ donor. Thank you to those who have helped save lives.”
On April 29, DelBene reported a productive meeting with Monroe city officials focusing on enhancing affordable housing and community safety. “Met with Monroe city officials to discuss ways to improve access to affordable housing & safety for our community.”
Suzan DelBene, born in Selma, Alabama in 1962, is 61 years old and resides in Medina. She graduated from Reed College and the University of Washington, entering Congress after succeeding Jay Inslee.
