Rep. Suzan DelBene, who represents Washington’s 1st congressional district in the U.S. Congress, has issued a series of warnings and updates on social media regarding severe weather conditions and rising home energy costs.
On December 8, 2025, DelBene alerted constituents to potential flooding due to current weather patterns: “Atmospheric river conditions mean flooding is possible across WA-01. Avoid flooded roads, prepare to move to higher ground if needed, & monitor local alerts. We’re keeping a close eye on conditions & sharing updates as things change.” She also provided resources for residents seeking more detailed information by county: “For county specific information you can visit https://t.co/aiqSK3VZXZ or https://t.co/gqcsxCEUFr.”
The following day, DelBene addressed economic concerns related to household expenses under previous federal administration policies: “Home energy bills are up 13% under Trump because of his chaotic policies. Families are paying more & falling behind on their bills, racking up hundreds of dollars in utility debt.”
Suzan DelBene has served as the representative for Washington’s 1st District since 2012 after succeeding Jay Inslee. Born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently residing in Medina, she holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
