Seattle University baseball ended its 2026 season with a loss to Gonzaga, 13-16, in Spokane on May 16. The Redhawks’ offense scored 13 runs on 11 hits during the game, but it was not enough to secure a win.
The game saw notable performances from Kenny Rhein, Royce Hale, and Brandon Stinnett, each hitting home runs. Rhein and Hale both had four runs batted in for the day. On the pitching side, Luke Alwood (2-4) was credited with the loss after allowing three runs in less than an inning pitched. Other pitchers including Micah Hagler, Blake Smith, and Ryan Stone also gave up three or more runs during the high-scoring contest.
The Redhawks did not qualify for the West Coast Conference tournament in their first year as members of the conference. Their final record stands at 18 wins and 31 losses overall, with an 11-16 mark within conference play.
This result marks the end of Seattle U’s baseball season without advancement into postseason play. The team will look ahead to building on their experience for next year.
