Seattle University baseball lost game two of its series against Santa Clara, 4-11, on May 9 at Everett Memorial Stadium. The Redhawks fell behind early but managed a rally in the fourth inning when Brandon Stinett hit a two-run home run as part of a three-run frame. After closing the gap to just one run, Seattle U was outscored 9-1 for the remainder of the game and ultimately dropped the series.
Kale Hammer received the loss after pitching five innings and giving up three earned runs. The defeat puts Seattle U’s season record at 17-27 overall and 11-12 in conference play.
The team will attempt to avoid a sweep in game three of the series scheduled for tomorrow, with Micah Hagler set to start. First pitch is planned for noon Pacific Time on senior day.
