Seattle University baseball will begin a three-game West Coast Conference series against Pepperdine starting Friday, April 24, at Championship Field in Bellevue. This marks the first time the two teams will meet on the baseball field.

The upcoming matchup is significant as Seattle U continues its conference campaign after recently taking two out of three games from San Diego, improving their conference record to 9-6. The Redhawks scored a total of 30 runs during that series.

Head Coach Donny Harrel achieved his 350th win with Seattle U following Saturday’s victory over San Diego. This milestone also represents his 570th career win as a head coach, including previous years at Lane Community College and Seattle U.

Several players have contributed notable performances ahead of the Pepperdine series. Payton Knowles was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week after going nine-for-13 with six extra-base hits and eight runs batted in during the San Diego games, raising his season average to .354. Tyler Horner hit three home runs against San Diego and now leads the team in both home runs and RBIs with 30. Pitcher Luke Alwood earned his first win of the season after throwing four-and-a-third scoreless innings last Saturday, marking his fifth collegiate victory.

Starting pitcher Travis Farrell has delivered quality outings in three consecutive games and four out of his last five appearances, pitching a total of 27 innings with an earned run average of 2.00 over those starts.

After returning from a road trip through San Diego, Seattle U looks to continue its recent home success; they are six wins and four losses in their last ten home games, which includes series victories over Loyola Marymount University and Portland.
