Tukwila School District issued the following announcement on June 29.
Greetings Tukwila Staff, Students, and Community:
Please join us in extending an enthusiastic congratulation to Mrs. Veronica Birdsong as she has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer for the Tukwila School District!
While establishing herself as a learner, collaborator, and leader in school finance and accounting, Mrs. Birdsong has served students and staff for more than 12 years in Steilacoom and Tukwila School Districts in the roles of Fiscal Coordinator and Accountant. She earned her Associate of Business Administration degree from Tacoma Community College and a Master of Business Administration degree, with an Accounting minor, from The University of Phoenix. Her extensive experience in school finance has prepared her for the role of Chief Financial Officer in Tukwila.
Mrs. Birdsong writes, “My education consists of a Master of Business Administration degree with an Accounting minor. I was the Accounting and Budgeting Chair for WASBO for the 2019-2020 school year. In addition to my master’s degree, I have a Certified School Business Official certification from WASBO. My leadership style encompasses open communication, professional growth, mentorship, and truly providing that stepping stone for future advancement”.
To find balance in her life, Mrs. Birdsong enjoys reading, traveling, hunting, camping, fishing, but most of all, creating beautiful memories with her family and friends!
