Construction

Seattle Public School issued the following announcement on June 26.

King County, including Seattle, is now in Phase 2 of Safe Start Washington, Governor Inslee’s phased approach to re-opening the state.

In phase 2, all construction, including new work, is allowed, including activities where social distancing may not be possible.

Contractors working on Seattle Public Schools projects are required to comply with the state’s Phase 2 COVID-19 Job Site Requirements. This includes developing a comprehensive COVID-19 exposure control, mitigation, and recovery plan.

The plan has to cover:

  • Personal protection equipment (PPE) use
  • Onsite social distancing
  • Hygiene
  • Sanitation
  • Symptom monitoring
  • Incident reporting
  • Site decontamination procedures

    COVID-19 safety training

    Exposure risk procedures

  • A post-exposure incident project-wide recovery plan
COVID-19 job site safety practices are required as long as Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” proclamation is in effect.
