City of North Bend issued the following announcement on July 2
Public Health—Seattle & King County continues to monitor cases, hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 and has noted an increase in cases over the past two weeks. The daily average number of cases has more than doubled in the past two weeks, from an average of 40 new cases in mid-June, to 87 new cases the week of June 21. The largest increase in new cases is in young adults and Seattle residents.
Although an increase in cases with reopening as people come into more contact with one another is not unexpected, the sharp increase in cases is signaling that we need to take steps to limit further spread that could prevent King County from moving to the next phase in the Safe Start plan.
Governor Inslee held a press conference today announcing that the State will now be requiring businesses require patrons wear masks/face coverings, as part of a new “Mask Up to Open Up” plan. This statewide plan begins next week and requires businesses to turn away customers not wearing facial coverings to reduce the spread of the virus.
Testing to diagnose people with COVID-19 as soon as possible after symptoms develop is a very important step in reducing transmission. Tests are available at your primary care provider and at a drive-thru testing tent at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Here are ways to help stop the spread of COVID-19:
1. Wear face coverings when you go out
2. Wash your hands frequently or use alcohol hand gel
3. Whenever possible, keep 6 feet apart from one another
4. Get tested at the first sign of illness
5. Avoid gatherings with people outside your household
