Tukwila School District issued the following announcement.
Greetings Tukwila Staff, Students, and Community:
Please join us in extending enthusiastic welcome to Mr. HkwauaQueJol “Q” Hollins as he has accepted the position of Interim Principal of Foster High School for the 2020-21 school year!
While establishing himself as a learner, collaborator, and leader in the field of education, Mr. Hollins has served students, staff, and the community for more than 17 years in Oregon, Washington D.C., Bellingham, and Renton in the roles of Teaching Assistant, Teacher, Assistant Principal, and High School Principal. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Education from the University of Oregon. He earned an Educational Leadership Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University. His extensive experience in the classroom and in secondary school leadership has prepared him for the role of Interim Principal at Foster High School.
Mr. Hollins writes, “My personal leadership philosophy is to promote the success of all students by facilitating the integral development, articulation, and stewardship of a shared vision of learning to maximize the potential of all stakeholders. Throughout my career, I consistently focused on improving student achievement by promoting student self-reflection on learning styles, goals, and student-centered classroom applications while facilitating the development of cross-curriculum professional learning communities and brain-based, staff-led instructional strategies.”
Mr. Hollins is married with five daughters, a granddaughter, and a new pup named JoJo. Mr. Hollins states, “My family keeps me busy and grounded. I love being a new ‘Pop-Pop’ and my granddaughter’s favorite mode of transportation.”
