City of Newcastle issued the following announcement.
The City of Newcastle is proud to partner with Newcastle resident John Schofield of CuliNex Kitchens to present Food Truck Saturday this August. Join us at Lake Boren Park every Saturday in August, when a different food truck will be serving up its culinary delights each week from 2-7 p.m. or until inventory runs out.
Newcastle Food Truck Saturday kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 1 and runs through Aug. 29. Each food truck will be announced on a weekly basis. Follow the City of Newcastle on Facebook (fb.com/newcastlewa) to see which truck will be coming that week. Incredibowls and a combined Lola’s Lumpia/Little Miss Sweets NYC pop-up will be serving Week 1.
Food truck operators will be adhering to strict COVID-19 safety protocols. Customers should wear a mask and be sure to maintain at least 6 feet of social distancing as you order, wait in line and/or picnic. As a reminder, the park shelters and playgrounds at Lake Boren Park remain closed, so diners are encouraged to pick up your food and take it home, rather than use those spaces. Parking is limited at Lake Boren Park, so customers should carpool or walk if possible.
Help keep our parks clean! Due to limited park staff, we ask that anything brought in with you also leaves with you. You're welcome to picnic on the park lawn at safe social distances, but please bring trash to the nearest can that isn't full; do not stack trash on full cans or prop flap open with garbage - crows will spread litter; and PACK IT OUT! Commit to bringing your garbage home for disposal.
