CITY OF BELLEVUE: City offers new human services funding for nonprofits

Result

City of Bellevue issued the following announcement.

The Bellevue Parks & Community Services Department is accepting funding applications through Wednesday, Aug. 19 from nonprofit, community-based human service providers that offer the following support to Bellevue residents:

  • Emergency rental assistance for households at risk of homelessness
  • Funds for other needs such as car repairs that would contribute to housing stability
Eligible providers must meet certain insurance, nonprofit status, financial and documentation requirements. Providers currently funded by the city to provide emergency financial assistance are ineligible to apply. To receive the application packet, contact Christy Stangland, Human Services planner, at cstangland@bellevuewa.gov. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m., Aug. 19.

This additional funding for Bellevue’s Human Service program comes as part of the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The city received $200,000 to award to providers that serve low-income residents of color, including immigrants and refugees, who have barriers to accessing city programs due to language, cultural or other challenges.

The CARES Act funding must be spent by Dec. 31.
