City of Sammamish issued the following announcement.
The City of Sammamish is in the process of updating development regulations for residential zoning and creating a unified development code. The code updates will address topics such as the design of residential subdivisions, protection of natural features, construction monitoring, code enforcement, and residential street standards. The City, through consultation with the Planning Commission and City Council, has identified eight topic areas that will be addressed in the Phase Two development regulations update.

How can the public stay involved in the project and provide input?
Information will be routinely updated on the project webpage to keep the public informed of progress and upcoming meeting dates. Meetings will be held with the Planning Commission and City Council that will provide opportunities to learn more about the project and provide public input. A public engagement event, likely to be held virtually due to COVID meeting restrictions, is anticipated in the Spring of 2021 and will be noticed on the City’s website. Public hearings will be held in later summer or early fall of 2021 as part of the adoption process. See the project schedule below for more information.
Online Survey
An online survey is focused on obtaining public input on the biggest issues and challenges with residential development and opportunities for improvement. The survey includes a variety of question types including ratings, multiple-choice, and/or rankings. The survey is now online and will be open until end of day November 10th, 2020. The survey is not intended to be statistically valid and is expected to provide primarily qualitative information to inform the development regulations update.
