Mayor McFarland’s State of the City Address and March 1st Council Meeting Recording
Mayor Rob McFarland delivered his annual State of the City Address at the March 1st City Council meeting, observing that 2021 “was another unprecedented year – but one highlighted by progress and positive outcomes for our citizens. These accomplishments reflect months, and sometimes years, of collaborative efforts by staff working with businesses, residents and elected officials to ensure our unique mountain town remains one of the most highly livable places in the state.” Gain insight on City topics such as fiscal stability, infrastructure, transportation, parks, public safety, businesses and more in the following ways:

The City recognizes the importance of promoting community engagement around the topic of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), the effect of ACEs and toxic stress on the developing brain, and how resilience building strategies buffer these predicted negative impacts. Snoqualmie Valley Transportation Needs Drivers!

Habitat for Humanity’s Taylor Town Provides Volunteering Opportunities
Located at 250 E 2nd Street, Habitat for Humanity is inviting volunteers to join in the community work of building Taylor Town, an affordable housing community in North Bend. Habitat for Humanity welcomes individuals and organizations with all skill levels and interest to join in on the build. Volunteers aged 16 and over are invited. When It Rains, It Pours. City Serves as Year-Round Sandbag Center
Early this week, heavy rain throughout the Valley pushed the Snoqualmie River to flood phase 3, resulting in some road closures and standing water in multiple locations in town.
During all flood events, the City of North Bend is here to help. The City collaborates with King County’s Flood Control District, and as a member, it serves as a Sandbag Center year-round. For more information about this agreement, visit King County’s Sandbag Distribution website. Residents who are concerned about potential localized street flooding impacting homes and businesses during any flooding events are City encouraged to utilize this service.
North Bend Covid-19 Activity
During the past seven days, according to King County Public Health, 4 new COVID-19 cases were reported – a 71% decrease from the previous week. One new hospitalization was reported this past week. Vaccinations, boosters, masking and physical distancing are all encouraged by Public Health officials to slow the spread of the highly transmissible Omicron variant and reduce stress on the healthcare system.
