Mayor Proclaims April Sexual Assault Awareness Month

It’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the City of North Bend is proud to partner with King County Sexual Assault Resource Center in standing up to sexual violence. Read the proclamation HERE.

Collaboration is a Beautiful Thing: Mayors Connect with Snoqualmie Valley School District Superintendent

Mayor McFarland and Snoqualmie Mayor Ross met this week with Snoqualmie Valley School District (SVSD) Superintendent Dr. Lance Gibbon to connect on shared opportunities, challenges and brainstorm ways the cities can collaborate to better serve students and families in Snoqualmie Valley.

Supt. Gibbon and Mayor McFarland discussed potential school improvements and coordination with the City on infrastructure to support. 

Mayor Rescinds Executive Orders Addressing City Hall Operations During Pandemic

Let’s get back to business in person! On Wednesday, March 30th, 2022, Mayor Rob McFarland issued Executive Order No. 20-07. The purpose of the Order is to rescind previously issued Executive Orders 20-01 through 20-06, addressing operational aspects of City Hall during the COVID-19 pandemic, between February, 2020 and March, 2022.

Meet up with the Mayor: Spring and Summer Opportunities 

On Wednesday, March 30th, residents stopped in at the North Bend Bakery for beverages, snacks and conversation with North Bend Mayor Rob McFarland. 

Meet ups provide a relaxed atmosphere in which to connect with Mayor Rob and discuss City-related topics you care about. This month was the first in a series of monthly Meet up with the Mayor events. Locations will always remain in North Bend, however, specific places will be announced closer to each event. Spring through summer meet ups include:

  • Wednesday, May 18: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, June 29: 10 – 11 a.m.
  • Wednesday, August 10: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Washington State Reps Lisa Callan and Bill Ramos Visit North Bend City Hall

Mayor McFarland and City Administrator David Miller welcomed Washington State Representatives Lisa Callan and Bill Ramos at North Bend’s City Hall this week, to meet on topics that touch all of our lives in one way or another – issues such as economic growth, living wage jobs and affordable housing. The reps want to hear from residents and local business owners like you, too. Learn about the 5th District and Legislators HERE.

A Supportive Community For All (SCFA): One-Stop-Shop for Local Resources

SCFA is an online one-stop-shop to learn about programs and services in the Snoqualmie Valley – including financial assistance, food resources, senior services, and more – that may benefit you and your loved ones. Check it out, and if you do not see a local resource to meet your need, call 2-1-1 for further assistance. 

Seeking Applicants for Vacancies on Planning Commission

The City of North Bend is seeking applicants for multiple vacancies on the Planning Commission, terms expiring May 18th, 2024 or May 18th, 2026. The Commission is an advisory body to the City Council that prepares and recommends coordinated plans, regulations, and restrictions for the physical development of the City.
