North Bend Weekly Recap: Events, Remembering Fritz Ribary, Meet up with the Mayor and More

Fritz Ribary, A Life Dedicated to Family and Public Service in Snoqualmie Valley: The  City of North Bend Council, Mayor and staff are deeply saddened by the  passing of former Mayor Fritz Ribary. Fritz was a dedicated public  servant, having served as Mayor of North Bend from 1988 to 1992.  Throughout his life, Fritz also served North Bend as a local fire  fighter and volunteer EMT, a City Planning Commissioner, and a City  Councilmember.

Learn about Fritz’ commitment to volunteerism,  public service and more by reading the Snoqualmie Valley Historical  Museum’s reflection of Frederick “Fritz” Joseph Ribary’s life, HERE. His Celebration of Life will be held June 4th, at 2:00 p.m., at Mount Si High School. All are welcome to attend.

A Day of Remembrance – Memorial Day Service at the North Bend Veterans Memorial: On Monday, May 30th,  we honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our  county and to their families. The American Legion Post 79 honored our  Veteran heroes with a Memorial Day service at the North Bend Veterans  Memorial, along with various other locations in the valley.

Your Next North Bend Yard Waste Recycling Event: The City of North Bend’s next 2022 North Bend Yard Waste Recycling program is set for Saturday, June 4th.  The annual recycling program is open to North Bend residents and  property owners on select Saturdays through October, from 8:00 a.m. to  12:00 p.m. at the North Bend Public Works building, located at 1155 E.  North Bend Way. NOTE: Please enter through City Hall, located at 920 SE  Cedar Falls Way.

Join us for the June 7th City Council Meeting: The community is invited to join City staff and elected officials for the in-person/hybrid June 7th City Council meeting at 7 p.m., located at North Bend City Hall: 920 SE Cedar Falls Way. HERE is the link to the agenda packet, which includes instructions to access  the virtual Zoom meeting, for those who prefer to join virtually.

FREE Community Events Return for the Summer in North Bend:  After nearly two years of cancelled or modified public celebrations,  communities are welcoming back a variety of cherished event traditions  this summer. Free community events foster community pride and engagement  in North Bend, and HERE are a few of them, open to everyone, with no pre-registration requirements. 

Meet up with the Mayor: On Wednesday, June 29th,  community members are invited to join North Bend Mayor Rob McFarland  for a cup of coffee at a local shop in town. Bring your questions and  chat over coffee and snacks with Mayor Rob. This casual setting provides  the perfect opportunity to get to know your mayor while discussing  city-related topics that are important to you. 

Meet up with the Mayor is hosted at various locations throughout town. The June 29th location will be released soon.
