On Tuesday, Mayor McFarland delivered the 2023 State of the City Address: Mayor McFarland delivered his 2023 State of the City Address at the March 7th City Council Meeting. He shared many accomplishments over the past year, as well as a few upcoming plans for 2023. Thank you, Rainier Asphalt: This winter, local business Rainier Asphalt and Concrete donated time, equipment, and materials to improve multiple pathways in North Bend: Tanner Trail, Taylor Park, and this month, E.J. Roberts Park. “I continue to be inspired by the collaborative, community-minded spirit of this local business. The impact of accessibility to our parks and increased connectivity throughout town create lasting impacts that benefit everyone,” said Mayor McFarland.
ICYMI: March 7th City Council Meeting: On Tuesday, Council, staff, and community met for the March 7th City Council Meeting. Agenda items included:
- Mayor McFarland's State of the City Address
- A first reading of the Ordinance Adopting NBMC 3.78 regarding the Multi-Family Tax Exemption Program
- An introduction to the Motion Authorizing a Contract with Quality Control Corp. for
- Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Upgrade
Spring is in the air: Believe it or not, cherry trees are on their way to exploding with gorgeous, pink blossoms, and North Bend is home to many of these beauties, as shared by Komo News this week.
New to our local hospital - Spacelabs: This week, Snoqualmie Valley Hospital (SVH) and Spacelabs joined forces in a partnership focused on health equity for everyone in every community. As our local hospital, this is important news for North Bend in addition to many communities in Snoqualmie Valley! SVH writes, "We’ve coined it the power of small, where we can push the boundaries of innovation as two teams working as one to better outcomes for patients by equipping care teams with state-of-the-art tools."
North Bend’s Citizens Academy: Snoqualmie-North Bend Police delivered a jam-packed, fun, and interactive Citizens Academy session on Saturday, March 4. Participants learned from Chief Phipps, Captain Lynch, the new Behavioral Specialist Stephanie Butler, and many more team members. The session ended with a tour of the station. Public Hearing Notice regarding North Bend Municipal Code (NBMC) Chapter 3.78: There will be a public hearing relating to a Multifamily Tax Exemption Program, located at 43600 SE 136th St: March 21, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, during a Regular City Council Meeting. Written comments may be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on March 20 or in person at the hearing.
