Rep. Suzan DelBene, U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, has recently posted a series of updates on her social media account addressing local disaster relief efforts and rising economic concerns.
On April 30, 2026, DelBene informed constituents about new federal assistance available to those affected by recent flooding: “Good News! FEMA has opened disaster assistance centers in Snohomish County. Residents can now get help to apply for relief following the December floods. The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is June 10, 2026. For more information, visit: https://t.co/ig51j0C7HV”.
The following day, May 1, 2026, she commented on the rise in gas prices and attributed responsibility to former President Donald Trump: “Gas prices are now at a record-high in our community. Make no mistake, Trump is directly responsible for this. Washingtonians are paying the price for the war in Iran. https://t.co/mYf7p6JeC0”.
Later that same day, DelBene addressed broader economic issues facing families: “Trump’s reckless policies continue hurting the economy & the data keeps proving it. In March, inflation reached its highest level in nearly 3 years, driving up prices for families. Food, gas, & health care are all more expensive.”
DelBene was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently resides in Medina at age 61. She holds degrees from Reed College (1983) and the University of Washington (1990). Since replacing Jay Inslee in Congress over a decade ago, DelBene has regularly communicated legislative updates and constituent services through her official channels.
