U.S. Representative Suzan DelBene, who represents Washington’s 1st district in Congress, addressed several issues on September 16, 2025, through a series of posts on her official X (formerly Twitter) account.
In a post published at 01:22 UTC, DelBene commented on the potential for a government shutdown under current Republican leadership: “Republicans control the House, Senate, & White House. If we want to avoid a shutdown, they need to come to the table. I’ll keep pushing for bipartisan solutions that keep our government open & working for families.”
Later that day at 15:41 UTC, she marked National Voter Registration Day by encouraging civic participation: “It’s National Voter Registration Day! Don’t wait – register now at https://t.co/juI7BFhGMq, check your status, & make a plan to vote. Encourage someone else to do the same!”
At 18:13 UTC on the same day, DelBene shared news about local infrastructure development in East King County: “Exciting news for East King County! The Eastrail network continues to grow with the Redmond Central Connector extension. I helped secure $1.1M for this project, which will connect 4 cities & bring our communities closer together. Grateful to see this project officially open.”
Suzan DelBene has served as U.S. Representative for Washington’s 1st District since replacing Jay Inslee in 2012 and is currently based in Medina after being born in Selma, Alabama in 1962. She holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
