Rep. Suzan DelBene, who represents Washington’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several issues through her social media posts, including Labor Day celebrations, efforts to release the Epstein files, and concerns about federal disaster response staffing.
On September 1, 2025, DelBene marked the national holiday with a message to workers: “Happy Labor Day! Today we celebrate the workers who keep our communities strong & our economy moving. Wishing everyone a safe & restful holiday.”
Two days later, on September 3, she announced her participation in a legislative initiative related to transparency on the Epstein investigation: “I joined a bipartisan effort today that would force a vote in the House on releasing the full Epstein files. Republican leadership is protecting Trump & the well-connected from accountability. Survivors deserve justice & the American people deserve answers.”
Later that day, DelBene commented on federal emergency management resources amid ongoing natural disasters: “Wildfires & hurricanes don’t wait for politics. Cutting FEMA staff puts lives at risk. We need our federal government ready to respond when disaster strikes.”
Suzan DelBene has represented Washington’s 1st District since 2012 after succeeding Jay Inslee as its member of Congress. She was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently resides in Medina. DelBene holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
