Rep. Suzan DelBene, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, recently shared her views on several topics through social media posts. These tweets highlight issues ranging from mental health awareness to political concerns and developments in women’s sports.
On May 4, 2025, Rep. DelBene addressed mental health awareness by stating, “It’s okay to not be okay. We must reduce the stigma around mental health so we can better support people who are struggling.” She encouraged those in need of assistance to reach out for help via the 988 hotline.
In a tweet posted on May 5, 2025, Rep. DelBene expressed concern about presidential accountability, saying “It should scare every American that the President of the United States refuses to clearly say that he’ll uphold our laws & constitutional protections.”
Later that day, Rep. DelBene celebrated Seattle’s unique position in women’s sports with her statement: “Seattle is the only city to have a NWSL team, a WNBA team, & now a women’s hockey team!”
Suzan DelBene was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently resides in Medina. She graduated from Reed College with a Bachelor of Science degree and later attended the University of Washington.
