Rep. Suzan DelBene, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district, has shared her views on recent events through a series of tweets. DelBene, who replaced Jay Inslee in 2012 and has been an active member of Congress since then, voiced her opinions on topics ranging from sports to reproductive rights and public safety.

On January 22, 2025, Rep. DelBene congratulated Ichiro Suzuki on his induction into the Hall of Fame with a brief message: “Welcome to the Hall of Fame, Ichiro!”

Later that day, she reflected on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade by emphasizing the importance of reproductive rights. In her tweet at 19:20 UTC, she stated: “52 years ago, Roe v. Wade affirmed a person’s right to make their own reproductive health care decisions. This fundamental freedom should never have been up for debate. I won’t stop fighting until we restore reproductive rights for all Americans.”

In another post on January 22 at 22:40 UTC, Rep. DelBene expressed concern over former President Trump’s actions regarding pardons issued to individuals involved in violent acts during the January 6 events. She wrote: “One of Trump’s first acts was to pardon hundreds of felons who violently attacked police officers on January 6. Releasing these violent criminals into our communities makes America less safe.”
