Rep. Suzan DelBene, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district, has expressed her views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and residing in Medina, DelBene has been a member of Congress since 2012 after succeeding Jay Inslee. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Reed College and further studies at the University of Washington.

On March 24, 2025, Rep. DelBene tweeted about the importance of Social Security for her constituents in Washington’s 1st district. She criticized efforts by House Republicans, former President Trump, and Elon Musk to privatize it, warning that such actions could have “dangerous consequences.” “Social Security is a vital resource for those in WA-01.”

Later that day, she addressed concerns over the handling of classified military information. In her tweet dated March 24, 2025, she described it as an “extreme level of incompetence” that put American service members at risk and called for accountability from President Trump and Congress.“An extreme level of incompetence handling classified military information.”

On March 25, 2025, Rep. DelBene advocated for equal pay during Equal Pay Day. She emphasized the need to close the wage gap and ensure fairness for women across all industries with her statement: “Equal work. Equal skills. Equal value.”
