Rep. Suzan DelBene, who represents Washington’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on March 11 and 12, 2026, criticizing former President Donald Trump’s policies on health care, immigration enforcement, and the economy.
On March 11, DelBene wrote: “Despite his claims, Trump has done absolutely nothing to lower health care costs. According to a House Energy & Commerce Committee report, TrumpRx doesn’t tangibly reduce prices & promotes expensive brand name medications over cheaper generics.”
Later that day, she addressed accountability at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), stating: “Accountability at DHS doesn’t stop at one firing. There must be a change of course. Unfortunately Sen. Mullin is another rubberstamp for Trump’s agenda & the violence ICE has brought to our communities.”
On March 12, DelBene commented on economic issues: “Trump’s economic policies are failing, & costs continue to rise for hardworking families. In addition to misguided tariffs, Trump’s war with Iran is sending gas prices skyrocketing.”
Suzan DelBene has served as a member of Congress since 2012 after succeeding Jay Inslee in representing Washington’s 1st District. Born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently residing in Medina, DelBene holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
