Rep. Suzan DelBene, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district, shared a series of tweets on July 2, 2025, addressing various topics from local events to national legislative matters.

In her first tweet on July 2, Rep. DelBene provided a guide for fireworks displays in the area scheduled for Friday, encouraging constituents to have a “safe & enjoyable 4th of July” “Here’s your guide to fireworks lighting up the sky in our area on Friday.”

Later that day, she commented on an impending vote regarding a financial bill proposed by former President Trump. She asserted that “every single Democrat will vote NO on Trump’s billionaire bailout,” urging four Republicans to join them in opposing what she described as a dangerous bill “All it takes is four Republicans to show some courage & join us to stop this dangerous bill.”

In another post, Rep. DelBene criticized the Senate’s amendments to a healthcare-related bill introduced by Trump. She warned that these changes would result in 17 million Americans losing their health care and lead to increased costs and reduced services due to hospital closures “The Senate took a bad bill and made it worse.”

Suzan DelBene has been serving since replacing Jay Inslee in 2012 and resides in Medina. Born in Selma, Alabama, she graduated from Reed College and later from the University of Washington.
