Rep. Suzan DelBene, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, has been actively communicating with her constituents through social media. On November 22, 2024, she shared updates regarding new prescription drug savings for seniors on Medicare and insights from a meeting with her Veterans Advisory Board.

On November 22, Rep. DelBene posted about her visit to Everett to discuss new prescription drug savings for seniors on Medicare. She stated that starting in January, out-of-pocket costs for prescriptions will be capped at $2,000 annually. Additionally, seniors will have the option to sign up for a payment plan to spread the cost of their medications over the entire year. “In Everett to highlight new prescription drug savings for seniors on Medicare.”

In a follow-up post made shortly after, Rep. DelBene emphasized the necessity of signing up to benefit from the payment plan option and provided a link for more information: “You must sign up to take advantage of a payment plan.”

Later that day, on November 23, Rep. DelBene reflected on her meeting with her Veterans Advisory Board, highlighting the importance of their insights in addressing issues faced by veterans within the community: “Had a great meeting with my Veterans Advisory Board today.”
