Rep. Suzan DelBene, U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on her social media account between April 17 and April 18, 2026.
On April 17, DelBene reiterated her concerns about government surveillance and privacy rights. She wrote, “I’ve long been concerned about the federal government’s warrantless surveillance program & collection of Americans’ data. Congress needs to reform FISA & protect your privacy.”
Later that day, she highlighted her engagement with local businesses and constituents by posting, “Great to stop by Farine, one of our great local cafes, to try my hand at latte making & connect with constituents.”
On April 18, DelBene shared an update regarding senior citizens’ healthcare challenges after meeting with AARP Washington. She stated, “Met with AARP WA to talk about the health care challenges facing our seniors & how we can best support family caregivers.”
DelBene has represented Washington’s 1st Congressional District since replacing Jay Inslee in 2012. Born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently residing in Medina, she holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
