DelBene, born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently residing in Medina, shared insights and information on travel preparedness, public health efforts in opioid prevention, and expressed personal sentiments regarding a significant political figure.
On May 17, 2025, Rep. DelBene advised travelers to be proactive about passport requirements. She emphasized the importance of verifying these details before travel by saying “Don’t wait until you’re packing your suitcase to check the passport requirements for your destination.” She provided resources for checking requirements and renewing passports.
Later that day, she highlighted progress made in combating opioid overdoses within Washington state. She noted that “Opioid overdose deaths in WA dropped 12% in 2024,” attributing this decline to enhanced access to naloxone—a medication known for reversing overdoses.
On May 18, 2025, Rep. DelBene extended her support to President Biden amidst his health challenges by stating “Wishing President Biden strength & healing as he faces this diagnosis.” Her message conveyed solidarity with the President and his family during this difficult time.
