Rep. Suzan DelBene, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, posted a series of updates on her official social media account addressing issues related to public service, community support for seniors, and disaster relief efforts in Washington state.
On April 14, 2026, DelBene emphasized the ethical standards required in government roles by stating, “Public service demands integrity.”
Later that evening, she highlighted her participation in a local volunteer initiative aimed at supporting older adults. On April 15, 2026, DelBene wrote, “Great to volunteer with Sound Generations’ Meals on Wheels! This program is vital in supporting seniors in our community & ensuring they have access to nutritious food.”
In another post from April 15, DelBene acknowledged recent federal assistance for those affected by severe flooding in Washington state. She stated, “I’m grateful that federal disaster relief was finally approved following the devastating December floods in WA. DelBene has served as the representative for Washington’s 1st District since succeeding Jay Inslee in 2012. She was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently resides in Medina. DelBene holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
