Rep. Suzan DelBene, U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, shared updates on her recent visits to local health care facilities and commented on national health policy developments through a series of posts on May 6, 2026.

In her first post at 00:10 UTC, DelBene wrote, “Toured ICHS Highland Health Center in Bellevue, which does important work providing affordable health care in our community.”

Later that morning at 03:42 UTC, she posted about another visit: “Visited Seattle Children’s Bellevue Clinic & Surgery Center to hear from staff & CEO Dr. Longhurst about the impact of Republican health care cuts in our community.”

By the afternoon, DelBene addressed ongoing legal battles over access to mifepristone, stating at 15:31 UTC: “Although the Supreme Court temporarily paused a lower court ruling restricting mifepristone access, we must continue to fight for science-backed health care. That’s why I’m joining with my colleagues to urge the Supreme Court to overturn this harmful decision & protect”

Suzan DelBene has represented Washington’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Jay Inslee in 2012. Born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently residing in Medina, DelBene holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
