Rep. Suzan DelBene, who represents Washington’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted several updates on social media regarding federal support for local industries and new developments concerning business refunds.
On April 19, 2026, DelBene wrote: “Met with the Pacific Coast Shellfish Growers to talk about protecting the environment & federal investments in research to support a vital WA industry.”
The following day, she addressed recent changes affecting businesses impacted by tariffs. In a post dated April 20, 2026, DelBene stated: “Today, the government is starting to allow businesses to apply for refunds for Trump’s illegal tariffs that the Supreme Court struck down. I will be closely monitoring to ensure that businesses of all sizes can access these funds, not just the largest corporations.” In another message posted at the same time, she encouraged affected business owners to reach out: “If you’re a business who is having trouble with this process or receiving your refund, I want to hear from you. Please reach out to my office to share your story:”
DelBene has served as a member of Congress since 2012 after replacing Jay Inslee and currently resides in Medina. She was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and holds degrees from Reed College and the University of Washington.
