Rep. Suzan DelBene, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district since 2012, shared updates this week on her official Twitter account regarding local preparations for the World Cup, federal funding nominations, and criticism of a recent Republican budget proposal.
On May 8, DelBene posted about visiting Lumen Field in Seattle as part of World Cup preparations: “Great to tour Lumen Field in preparation for the World Cup!! Can’t wait to welcome everyone from around the world to our beautiful region “.
The following day, she criticized the Republican budget proposal in a tweet dated May 9: “Republicans released their budget proposal this week, & it does absolutely nothing to make your life more affordable. Instead, it writes a blank to ICE & wastes taxpayer money on Trump’s ballroom.”
Later that same day, DelBene highlighted her efforts to secure federal funding for local projects: “This week I nominated 20 projects for federal funding that will strengthen our community by:
Improving roads & trails
Building more water infrastructure
Investing in public safety”.
Suzan DelBene has represented Washington’s 1st District since replacing Jay Inslee in 2012. She was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and currently resides in Medina. DelBene graduated from Reed College with a BS in 1983 and later earned another degree from the University of Washington in 1990.
