Rep. Suzan DelBene, serving Washington’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2012, has shared a series of statements on her social media platform. DelBene, who was born in Selma, Alabama in 1962 and resides in Medina, has focused on various issues ranging from international relations to tax enforcement.

In a statement made on March 27, 2025, DelBene emphasized the consequences of actions by the Trump administration and Republican counterparts on international relations, particularly with Canada. She remarked, “While Trump & Republicans continue to damage our relationship with our closest allies like Canada, Washingtonians are paying the price. We have already seen declines in tourism & manufacturing.”

In another post made later on the same day, March 27, 2025, DelBene shared a more lighthearted comment regarding the natural beauty of her district. The statement simply noted, “Nearing peak bloom! “

Further addressing domestic issues in another March 27, 2025 post, she criticized efforts by certain political figures to undermine the functions of the IRS. She stated, “Trump, Musk, & Republicans are trying to dismantle the IRS’ ability to go after financial crimes & wealthy tax cheats. My bill would keep agents focused on the important work they’re trained to do.”
