Snoqualmie-North Bend Police Take Back Unwanted Prescription Drugs: April 30th: On Saturday, April 30th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Snoqualmie-North Bend Police Department and the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 21st opportunity in nine years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
Community members can bring pills for disposal to the Snoqualmie Fire Department at 37600 Snoqualmie Parkway. (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
Thank You: Community Effort Helps Beautify North Bend During Earth Day Event: The City of North Bend wishes to express its gratitude for the community effort during the City’s two-day Beautification Days event, held in honor of Earth Day.
On Friday, April 22nd, and Saturday, April 23rd, residents, the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, the North Bend Downtown Foundation, Girl Scouts, Empower Youth Network and Republic Services representatives met up with City Councilmembers, the Mayor and City staff to pick up litter throughout town. It was also on Friday that Mayor McFarland proclaimed April 22nd Earth Day. He read the proclamation aloud at the event, surrounded by community organizations, City Council members and staff. NE 6th Street Watermain Replacement and Roadway Repair Project Set to Begin May 2nd: The NE 6th Street Watermain Replacement and Roadway Repair project is set to begin construction Monday, May 2nd, 2022. Work will begin at the intersection of NE 6th Street and Ballarat Avenue and will continue east. A portion of the project includes work on Janet Avenue, Orchard Avenue, Merritt Avenue, and Thrasher Avenue, south of NE 6th Street.
The NE 6th Street project will help tackle both street repair and contribute to goals in the City’s Water System Plan (WSP) by replacing an aging watermain that has lasted beyond its useful life. This work will continue to reduce water distribution system leakage.
North Bend Yard Waste Recycling Program: May 7th and 21st! Special Recycling Event: May 14th! The next 2022 North Bend Yard Waste Recycling program is set for May 7th and May 21st. This annual recycling program is open to North Bend residents and property owners on select Saturdays, April through October, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the North Bend Public Works building, 1155 E. North Bend Way.
The City of North Bend and the Snoqualmie Tribe’s annual spring Special Recycling Event happens Saturday, May 14th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Snoqualmie Middle School (SMS), 9200 Railroad Ave SE. This year’s event also includes free giveaways with a limited number of prizes for attendees.
Traffic Alert: SE North Bend Way and 436th Ave SE Final Road Grinding, Paving Scheduled Week of May 2: Beginning the week of May 2nd, road grinding is expected to commence along Southeast North Bend Way, from just west of the Snoqualmie Valley Trail to the newly constructed roundabout at Southeast North Bend Way and 436th Avenue Southeast.
This developer-funded roundabout will be constructed to mitigate potential future traffic impacts. No taxpayer dollars are being spent on this traffic improvement project.
State of the Cities Address: A SnoValley Chamber Tradition: North Bend Mayor McFarland and Snoqualmie Mayor Ross delivered State of the City addresses this week, at the North Bend Theatre, as part of a longstanding SnoValley Chamber tradition.
