Suzan DelBene addresses tariffs and storm relief efforts

Rep. Suzan DelBene, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 1st District since 2012, has recently shared her views and initiatives on social media regarding tariffs, storm damage in Western Washington, and assistance for residents with federal programs.

On December 5, 2024, Rep. DelBene expressed concerns about the economic impact of tariffs imposed by former President Trump. She stated that "Tariffs raise prices on goods like gas & food. Trump’s tariffs would cost families thousands a year." She emphasized the need for congressional approval before any president can impose sweeping tariffs.

In another post dated December 6, 2024, Rep. DelBene addressed recent storm damage in Western Washington. She urged residents to report property damage to aid the state's application for federal disaster relief funding. "The recent storms caused considerable damage in Western WA," she wrote, providing links for reporting damages in King and Snohomish counties.

On December 8, 2024, Rep. DelBene invited constituents needing assistance with federal programs or agencies to meet with her casework team at an upcoming event. She assured residents of her district that "My office is here to help residents in WA’s 1st Congressional District!" The meeting was scheduled at the Monroe Library.
