The City of Sammamish is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Lysaght as Chief of Police.
Steve has worked for the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) for the past twenty years and previously served as an officer for the Colorado State University Police Department.
Prior to his appointment as Chief of Police in Sammamish, he served in the capacities of Field Training Officer, Master Patrol Officer, and detective at KCSO’s Burien precinct. He’s
since served as a patrol supervisor for the cities of Shoreline and Kenmore, as well as a detective sergeant for KCSO’s Internal Investigations Unit and the King County METRO
Transit Police Criminal Investigations Unit.
He possesses degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Colorado State University, and taught Community-Police Relations for two years at Highline Community
College.
In addition, Steve has worked in Sammamish for the past ten years as the Director of Public Safety of the Klahanie Homeowner’s Association. He loves living in the great Pacific
Northwest with his family and looks forward to serving the Sammamish community in his role as Chief of Police.
