Rep. Suzan DelBene, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district, has recently expressed concerns through a series of tweets regarding security and privacy issues related to unauthorized access to federal IT systems. These tweets were posted on February 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2025.

On February 7, Rep. DelBene criticized former President Trump for allegedly allowing Elon Musk "illegal & unauthorized access to sensitive federal IT systems," which she claims threatens the security and privacy of personal information. She emphasized her commitment to preserving and protecting privacy in this context. The full tweet can be found here.

The following day, on February 8, Rep. DelBene continued her critique by stating that Musk was given illegal access to data concerning finances, health, and other sensitive information by Trump. While acknowledging a decision related to this issue, she described it as limited because Musk and his associates still have access to other federal IT systems. She reaffirmed her efforts to demand answers and stop such practices. The complete tweet is available here.

On February 9, Rep. DelBene drew from her experience as a former medical researcher to highlight the impact of medical trials on patients and families. She attributed negative outcomes in this area to what she described as disastrous results of the Trump administration's budget cuts affecting life-changing programs. More details can be accessed in her tweet here.
