Rep. Suzan DelBene, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 1st district, has recently shared her views on a series of policy decisions made by former President Donald Trump. DelBene, who has been a member of Congress since 2012 after succeeding Jay Inslee, expressed her concerns over issues related to metal production, trade wars, and tax enforcement.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. DelBene criticized Trump's plan for increasing steel and aluminum production in the United States. She argued that "Trump's plan won't work- just like the last time," adding that it would result in higher costs for cars, homes, and everyday goods for Americans. She urged Trump to collaborate with Congress to enhance metal production.

In another tweet dated February 12, 2025, DelBene called for an end to trade war threats against Canada and Mexico. She stated that "President Trump must immediately abandon the trade war threats he continues to make against our close allies Canada & Mexico." She also mentioned leading efforts among all Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee to revoke these tariff orders.

Later on February 12, 2025, DelBene addressed concerns about IRS resource allocation at the Southern Border. According to her post: "Trump is sending IRS agents to the Southern Border meaning fewer officials are available to hold wealthy tax cheats accountable & ensure everyone is paying their fair share just as the tax season gets underway."
