On April 8, 2025, DelBene criticized former President Trump's trade policies, describing the impact of what she termed a "reckless trade war" on Washington state's economy. She pointed out that Canadian commerce is being diverted and noted difficulties for small businesses in selling products across the Canadian border. She emphasized the adverse effects of broad tariffs on local tourism and economic activities.
Later that day, DelBene made another post, introducing legislation aimed at housing issues. She expressed her concern that too many families in Washington and across the United States struggle to find "a safe, affordable place to call home." The proposed bipartisan legislation seeks to address this by providing for the construction of 2 million affordable homes nationwide, underscoring the importance of stable housing for family stability.

Suzan DelBene has been serving in Congress since 2012, having stepped in to replace Jay Inslee. She was born in Selma, Alabama, in 1962 and now resides in Medina, Washington, after graduating from Reed College and the University of Washington.
